Honouring Ricky’s Legacy
Following the recent passing of Ricky, the outpouring of love, respect, and support shown to his family, friends, and colleagues has been overwhelming. The stories shared about how he inspired, supported, and brought joy to people’s lives have been a real source of comfort — and a reminder of the incredible impact he had on so many.

Ricky was open and honest about his own struggles with mental health. His courage in speaking about these challenges gave others the strength to share their own battles. In his memory, we are determined to channel our sadness into something powerful and positive: creating a lasting legacy for the People’s Champion.

The Ricky Hatton Foundation
Ricky loved people, loved to talk, and above all, loved helping others. The Ricky Hatton Foundation will carry that spirit forward — supporting those facing their own fights with mental illness and ensuring that no one ever has to face those battles alone.
Our mission will be to:
Raise awareness of mental health challenges
Remove the stigma that prevents people from speaking up
Educate and support through community programmes, outreach, and practical resources
Offer direct support through talking therapies
Be there, in the corner of those struggling with their mental health, so they know that no one has to fight this alone
Sport will be at the heart of this work. Just as Ricky used boxing to inspire people, the Foundation will use sport — boxing, football, and beyond — as a powerful vehicle to bring people together, spark conversation and drive positive change. We thank everyone from the world of boxing and sport who have already reached out and offered their support.
